Orioles promote Jackson Holliday to High-A Aberdeen

The Baltimore Orioles have had one of the best and most exciting Minor League systems the past few years and this year is no exception. The Orioles have promoted last years first overall MLB draft pick Jackson Holliday to High-A Aberdeen after a quick stint with the Delmarva Shorebirds seemed to be no problem.

Holliday hit .392 in 51 at bats with two home runs, a triple, six doubles and had 14 walks. I expect Holliday to spend a good amount of time at Aberdeen regardless of his success. For most organizations prospects are knocking on the door when they get to AA but in the Orioles case their minor league system is so deep that they have top talent all throughout the minors.

Holliday could likely make it to AA Bowie this season but I think that is the furthest the Orioles would be willing to push him this year. Holliday is only 19 years old and is still developing, he is extremely advance for his age but with an organization as deep as the Orioles their is no need to push him.

As for no Aberdeen should be a great place to watch one of the top prospects in baseball.
