John Means heading to AA-Level Bowie for rehab start

Means who has been sidelined for a season in a half has been dealing with back trouble and also recovering from Tommy John surgery

John Means, who hasn’t pitched since the end of 2021, is heading for Double-A Bowie for long-delayed rehab start following back trouble that started in May. It looks like Means’ return to the rotation is nigh but the question is: What will the Orioles do after he is officially placed on the 40-man roster? Who will be DFA’ed? There’s a lot of questions that management will have to answer to upon his return. His scheduled rehab start is Thursday.

According to several reports, Means has been feeling a lot better and is energized for his rehab start in the coming days. Caroline Means as well has stated that her husband has made very significant progress. She did take the time to thank fans throughout this very difficult ordeal that John has been going through via twitter.

But it also raises the question of what happens with the rotation when he’s placed back on the roster. We don’t know what Mike Elias or Brandon Hyde has up their sleeves but Orioles fans are pleased that Means is making his return and it will be soon.
