Four Orioles selected to the 2023 All-Star game

The Baltimore Orioles will be sending four players to the 2023 All-Star game in Seattle. Adley Rutschman, Austin Hays, Yennier Cano, and Felix Bautista will all be going to represent the Orioles, all of which are going for the first time.

Rutschman was the obvious choice who finished second in All-Star votes behind former Orioles farmhand Jonah Heim. Rutschman batted .268 with 11 home runs in for the Orioles while playing great defense as a catcher. Rutschman was a lock for the All-Star game.

Hays who has played stellar defense has a .313 average and has hit eight home runs. Hays has been one of the best overall hitters in the Majors this year and deserved the honor.

Cano and Bautista have been one of the best 1,2 punches the Majors has ever seen in the backend of the bullpen. Bautista posted a 1.19 era with 21 saves and a 3 and 1 record. Cano who did not make the team out of spring training posted a 1.12 era and started the season with a long hitless streak. Cano and Bautista have been nearly unhittable out of the bullpen and both deserved the honor.

The Orioles are sending the most All-Stars to the game since 2016.
