Chesapeake Baysox Fall 7-4 to Richmond Flying Squirrels after Richmond scored three runs in the ninth inning on Aug. 19, 2026, in Bowie, Maryland. Fernando Peguero had a three-hit game for Chesapeake, including a two-run single that tied the score at four in the eighth inning.

Sabin Ceballos ended Dzierwa’s streak of 22 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning. Richmond Flying Squirrels Rally in Ninth

Gerald Ogando pitched two scoreless innings in relief and recorded five strikeouts, a career best across five full-season affiliated campaigns. Richmond starter Trystan Vrieling pitched six innings and allowed two runs in a no-decision.

Richmond broke the tie against Alex Pham in the ninth inning. Kilen’s RBI double put the Flying Squirrels ahead, and Ceballos followed with a two-run home run to complete the three-run inning.

Tyler Vogel earned the win after retiring Chesapeake in the bottom of the ninth, while Pham took the loss with a 0-2 record. The Richmond Flying Squirrels are the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and the Chesapeake Baysox are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

Chesapeake Baysox Set for Thursday Game

The Chesapeake Baysox will host the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Thursday in the third of six games between the teams that week. Anthony Eyanson is scheduled to start for Chesapeake against Richmond starter Yunior Marte.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Prince George’s Stadium.
