Caps fly to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets after a heartbreaking overtime loss to Buffalo
The Washington Capitals are coming off a hard fought game against the Buffalo Sabers which saw them lose in overtime. The Capitals have been playing more disciplined hockey, and getting less penalties then earlier in the season. The Caps have also been playing very physical hockey registering a lot of hits through the game, and in most games, out hitting the opponent. The Caps have also been doing a lot better at faceoffs, and won 43 faceoffs in the previous game. The Capitals have been getting the puck on net a lot more and have registered a ton of shots in the last few games, and have often outshot the opponent. The Caps have been on a roll recently having won 11 games through the month of December and last nights game. During that span of December till today, the caps had only lost 4 games which is an incredible feat, considering they are the most injured team in the league. Alex Ovechkin has also been on a roll scoring goals, including two in the game against the Sabers and now sits at 808 career goals, and has scored 28 goals this season, and is on pace for 57 goals. The Blue Jackets, have also had an abysmal season so far registering a record of 11-23-2. The game is going to be shown on National TV as its being broadcast on ESPN at 7:00.
