Capitals sign Zdeno Chara to a one year contract

The Capitals have announced that they signed Zdeno Chara to a contract. The deal is good for one year. Chara entered the NHL in the 1997-1998 season. In his career, he has scored 205 goals, and 451 assists. He has played 1, 553 games in his career. While he doesn’t put up many points, he is still a big physical defender. He was the captain for the Boston Bruins for all 14 seasons he was with them. This signing gives the Caps, another physical defense man, and also gives the team, more depth. While the defense struggled last season, the team has made a few acquisitions, in order to make it better. This signing is a great pickup for the Capitals.
