Capitals head to the Chi to face Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks for the first time this season

The Washington Capitals are heading to Chicago, for the second game of a back-to-back. Last night, the Caps, shut out the New York Rangers. This was one of the Capitals best outings of the season. Charlie Lindgren was stellar in goal, the defense tightened up in the defensive zone and the puck movement in order to get the goalie moving and on his toes was superb. If the team can keep it up tonight then look for another stellar win and showing.

Charlie Lindgren has been phenomenal in net. Charlie has stepped up and gotten a ton more games than Darcy Kuemper who has been struggling. He currently is posting a 6-2-1 record. Charlie was originally the backup goaltender aka goaltender number 2. His stellar play and ability to stop the challenging shots, allowing the Caps to stay in the game has earned him more playing time.

Alex Ovechkin has been off to a career low for goals. Due to this, he has been opening up scoring opportunities for other players, because the goalie is preoccupied with him. Having Alex on a line with Dylan Strome has helped Strome have a phenomenal season so far. This also opens the door for other players like Tom Wilson, Anthony Mantha, ect.

This is the first time the Caps will get a look at Connor Bedard who was the conscious overall #1 pick in last years draft. Bedard has looked stellar at times, and also like a rookie (which he is) at times. This will be a fun game to get a good look at Bedard, and also have a good amount of scoring.
