Capitals face a dire do or die situation in game 5
The Washington Capitals are facing elimination in the game 5. This could be the third time in three seasons where the team is eliminated in the first round. Game 4 was the first game in the series that didn’t need overtime. Lets look at some keys to winning the game.
The defense must be better. The checks have been sub par, there’s been trouble getting the puck into the neutral zone, and keeping puck control. This needs to improve so the goaltender can get a reprieve and not face as many shots.
The power play needs to face changes. The slingshot to enter the zone followed by a dump and chase just isn’t cutting it and needs to be tweaked. By tweaking it and changing it up, it keeps the opposing teams penalty kill on their toes which allows for better scoring chances.
