Orioles release Tillman

The Baltimore Orioles have released Chris Tillman after he declined an assignment to the minor leagues. Tillman signed a one-year contract in the off season worth $3 million and struggled with injuries and his performance.

Tillman had a 10.46 era this season and a 7.84 era in 2017. Tillman went 0 for 3 with a 6.75 era in his rehab starts.

I have said it before but Tillman has not been healthy at all the past few seasons. The best thing for Tillman is to take a year off and rest.

At Tillman’s best he is a good starter and has had really solid years. Tillman is still only 30 years old and has time to put his career back together.

Remember Tillman used to be the Orioles ace and big game starter. Hopefully one day Tillman can get back to form.
