Washington Mystics: First in the Eastern Conference
The Washington Mystics sit 4th in WNBA standings after last night’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury who are currently the #1 team in the league. They Mystics sit 1st in the Eastern Conference.
The Mystics’ preseason started off strong with a particularly notable blowout against the Indiana Fever. Despite starting the regular season with a couple of injuries, the Mystics have had quite a few strong showings, but also a few games where they’ve run up a lead and then allowed their opponent to regroup and close the lead through the 3rd or 4th quarter. Whether that relates to team fatigue, the other team reading their plays and making halftime adjustments, or other, remains to be seen. Hopefully this won’t be something that continues throughout the season. The energy of the team will wear down if it becomes a pattern.

With a month left until the AllStar game the Mystics are in great position and barring any injuries, should finish strong at the AllStar break.
