The Maryland Terrapins face off against In State Opponent UMBC

The Maryland Terrapins look to build off of their win against Saint Peters tonight when they take on in-state opponent, UMBC. This game for the Terps is their last chance to tune up and get all the problems out, as they start Big Ten Conference play this Sunday in Ann Arbor. Last Wednesday the Terps beat the Saint Peters Peacocks by a final score of 75-45. Tonight, they have a chance to continue to build on that confidence builder with a shot against the UMBC Retrievers.

The Retrievers who sit at 9-4 and 3rd in the American East travel to College Park tonight. Led by Colton Lawrence, the Retrievers are in the midst of a 6 game win streak, most recently beating William and Mary by 16.

For the Terps, this is their last tune up game before we get to the meat of their schedule. Tonight they have a chance to build off of a much needed big performance from their offense. Hakim Hart made his presence felt last Wednesday with a 20 point performance, shooting ⅞ from the field. Hart is a high potential player, who if he continues to play at that level, can really make a difference for the Terps this season.

Tonight, the Terps square off against UMBC in College Park at 7 pm on ESPNU. As long as they stay within themselves and don’t come into this game thinking it will be a walk in the park, they should have no problem coming away with a nice win here. Let’s hope to see a similar offense to what we saw most recently, hope they can continue to build on it, find some chemistry, and ride a hot streak into Big Ten Conference play.

Go Terps!
