Chris Conner was signed by the Capitals during “Free Agent Frenzy” on July 1st, 2014. He inked a one year $550,000/$250,000 NHL/AHL deal. Conner has previously played for the Penguins, Coyotes, Red Wings and the Stars. He was an undrafted free agent signee of the Dallas Stars on July 13th, 2006. Conners played college hockey in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for the Michigan Tech Huskies from 2002-2006.
The large crowd that showed up for today’s final scrimmage and Fan Fest saw no shortage of goals which mostly came at the expense of the Capitals top young talent.
Unlike the previous two scrimmages, the two best players in Jakub Vrana and Andre Burakovsky did not wow the crowd. The center and right wing duo, which had previously been the two best players in the scrimmages the last two days, had a performance they will likely want to put past them.
As I told the twitter followers of @mdsportsblog, if the Baltimore Orioles game was rained out I will do a quick video blog for you guys. Nothing special just me talking the recent happenings of our favorite sport teams.
