Ravens trade Correa to Titans

The Baltimore Ravens have traded linebacker Kamalei Correa to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a future draft pick. Correa is a former second round pick of the Ravens.

Correa has been dominate in the preseason and was looking like a player fighting for a starting position. The Ravens defense is deep at all levels.

I do not like this trade. The Ravens are giving up a player who looked like he was on the verge of a breakout season. Reports are from multiple outlets that the Ravens are getting just a sixth round pick in return.

While Correa’s current NFL resume with just 15 tackles may not be impressive the film in preseason on him looked like a different player.

The Ravens made a similar trade like this before trading Timmy Jerrigan for a late round pick. Jerrigan became a starter for the Philadelphia Eagles and was a key member of their Super Bowl team.

Here is the Ravens press release.

RAVENS TRADE LB KAMALEI CORREA

Pending the passing of a physical, the Baltimore Ravens have traded LB Kamalei Correa to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a future draft pick, general manager & executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Tuesday morning.

Correa begins his third NFL season after originally entering the league as a 2016 second-round (42nd overall) selection of the Ravens. Seeing action in 25 career games (four starts), the 6-3, 249-pounder spent his first two seasons in Baltimore where he recorded 11 tackles (eight solo), two passes defensed and one forced fumble.

In 2017, he played in all 16 games (three starts) for the Ravens, recording eight tackles and one pass defensed. He also collected seven special teams tackles last season.
