Ravens report card versus the Texans: the Defense and special teams

For those who missed the first report card go here.

Defensive line: The Defensive line played great going against the Texans tough running game. They only allowed 94 total rushing yards and got pressure on Matt Schaub. The Ravens ended up with three sacks, Terrell Suggs has a sack in every game. Haloti Ngata also played great and had a sack. It always starts up front and this group dominated despite being short handed. Grade A

Linebackers: Daryl Smith has just been phenomenal and had a pick six that really changed the whole game yesterday. Smith also led the team in tackles with 10. Josh Bynes missed on a few tackles and could have played a tad better but he was still good. Grade A

Secondary: Jimmy Smith needs to work on his ball awareness but he played well at times. Lardarius Webb has just been incredible since returning from his knee injury, he had seven tackles. James Ihedigbo had his best game as a Baltimore Raven, Ihdigbo was very aggressive and was in on nine tackles. Grade B+

Special Teams: Tandon Doss ran a punt back for an 82 yard touchdown and basically ended the game for the Texans. Justin Tucker returned to form with three field goals after missing two last week. The special teams had too many penalties and really needs to clean up their coverage. Grade B

Overall: Fantastic defense that has not allowed a touchdown in two weeks. Grade A

Coaching staff: They did what they needed to do to win, it was not pretty but the Ravens never play pretty. Grade A
