ORIOLES ANNOUNCE 2020 SCHEDULE

Opening Day slated for March 26 at Oriole Park against the New York Yankees

The Orioles today announced that their 2020 season will open on Thursday, March 26, at Oriole Park against the New York Yankees, as part of a season-opening, six-game homestand against the Yankees (three games) and Boston Red Sox (three games). The club will open the 2020 road schedule one week later at Busch Stadium against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, April 2.

The Orioles will play against the Boston Red Sox in the 2020 MLB Little League Classic presented by GEICO at Historic Bowman Field, the home of the Phillies’ Class-A Williamsport Crosscutters of the NY-Penn League, on Sunday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will serve as a home game for the Orioles and will air nationally that evening on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and ESPN Radio.

The Orioles will again host each American League East divisional opponent for three series throughout the season. The Yankees will play a total of 10 games in Baltimore, March 26-29, June 29-July 1, and September 4-7. The Boston Red Sox will visit Camden Yards for nine games, March 30-April 1, August 4-6, and August 20-22. The Orioles will also host the Toronto Blue Jays for nine games, April 24-26, May 29-31, and September 8-10. The Tampa Bay Rays will travel to Baltimore for 10 games, June 19-21, July 17-19, and September 21-24.

The 2020 Interleague slate features visits to Baltimore by the Pittsburgh Pirates (April 10-12), Chicago Cubs (April 14-15), Washington Nationals (August 8-9), and Milwaukee Brewers (September 11-13). The Orioles’ road schedule against National League opponents will include visits to the St. Louis Cardinals (April 2-5), Chicago Cubs (June 2-3), Cincinnati Reds (August 31-September 2), and Washington Nationals (September 15-16).

The Orioles will be hosting 14 weekend series for the second time in Oriole Park history (also 2019). The home schedule will also consist of five games played on national holidays including Easter Sunday (April 12 vs. Pittsburgh), Mother’s Day (May 10 vs. Los Angeles–AL), Memorial Day (May 25 vs. Chicago-AL), Father’s Day (June 21 vs. Tampa Bay), and Labor Day (September 7 vs. New York-AL). Following a scheduled Friday off day on August 7, the Orioles will host the Washington Nationals for a two-game weekend series (August 8-9) at Camden Yards. The club will have a home game on September 6 vs. New York-AL to mark the 25th anniversary of Cal Ripken, Jr.’s historic 2,131st consecutive game played.

The Orioles will play 14 home games in both June and September, their busiest months at Oriole Park. The Orioles have just one 10-game homestand: September 4-13 (New York-AL, Toronto, and Milwaukee) and one nine-game homestand: July 17-26 (Tampa Bay, Seattle, and Oakland).

The Orioles will play 18 of their first 31 games of the season at home. Baltimore will travel for two 10-game road trips: May 15-24 (at Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and Toronto), and July 2-12 (at Oakland, Seattle, and Boston). The O’s will also travel for one nine-game road trip: August 25-September 2 (at New York-AL, Texas, and Cincinnati). The Orioles will complete the home portion of their regular season schedule with a four-game homestand against Tampa Bay (September 21-24). The Orioles will finish the regular season on the road with a three-game road trip to Boston, September 25-27.
