Orioles Acquire Outfielder Jaycob Brugman from Oakland
The Orioles have acquired outfielder Jaycob Brugman from the A’s for a player to be named later or cash. Brugman in 143 plate appearances last season, had a .266 batting average with three home runs and twelve runs batted in. Brugman has spent most of his career in the Athletics minor league system, but in his five seasons in the minors, he had a .344 OBP. That statistic is very attractive to a GM like Duquette, who values lefty hitters who know how to get on base, but maybe a little too much. This is obviously a very minor move for the O’s, and I cannot imagine Brugman playing a major roll in the Orioles’ 2018 campaign.
