In what can only be called a make-or-break series for the Nationals, the first place Phillies come to town tonight for the first of a three-game set.
After a disappointing series against the Miami Marlins, the Nats turn to Tanner Roark to lead a potentially season-saving rebound. Roark is 5-0 in his last five starts, posting a strong 1.77 ERA with 28 strikeouts.
The Phillies send Vince Velasquez (8-9, 4.13 ERA) to the mound. After an impressive July and early August, Velasquez made it only 2 1/3 innings in his last start.
Nats fans, this series is a must win.
