Nationals Dominate Pirates 3-2

The Washington Nationals held off the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon in regular season action. The Nats’ record stands at 7-6. The Pirates’ drop to 7-6.

Anibal Sanchez pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Allowing 7 hits and 1 strikeout while pitching. Wander Suero a relief pitcher for Washington struggled while pitching.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. Belting out home runs by Adam Eaton and Howie Kendrick. In the bottom of the fourth inning, backup catcher Kurt Suzuki singled to left and Rendon scored for Washington to make the game tied at 1-1. At the bottom of the eighth, 2nd baseman Howie Kendrick hit a home run to the left.

The Washington Nationals play the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow at 1;35pm at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. Pitching for the Nationals will be Max Scherzer.
