Markakis hits career milestone

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis got his 1,500 career hit today and did one better by getting another hit.  Markakis is now halfway to 3,000 hits one of the big accomplishments for a major league hitter.

Markakis has been slowed by injuries the past couple seasons or he would have gotten to 1,500 sooner.  Still it is a big accomplishment for a player that is only 30.  Markakis if he stays healthy and has a long career has a very good shot at getting 3,000 hits.

Markakis had a big day today he went three for four including a home run.

Markakis’ accomplishments seemingly go unnoticed by the National media and he could end his career with near Hall of Fame numbers and never be selected to an All-Star game.
