Jay Beagle Signs Four-Year Deal With Vancouver Canucks

Thirtytwo-year old center Jay Beagle has signed a four-year $12 million contract. Beagle a long time Washington Capital will move onto another organization after spending 10 years in the Capitals organization.

Beagle became the first player to ever win a Stanley Cup (NHL), Calder Cup (AHL) and Kelly Cup (ECHL). Beagle is a great fourth line center who is one of the best in the league on face off percentage, and finished fourth in the league this past season winning 58%. Beagle played a total of 471 games for the Capitals and produced 116 points.

Beagle was a fan favorite in DC and is a great addition for the Canucks. The Calgary, Alberta native said, “I’m excited to be back in Canada and look forward to meeting my new teammates.”

Beagle being 32 and getting a contract like this would’ve been impossible for the Capitals to match. Best of luck to Beagle in Vancouver. He’ll always be remembered as a Cap and thank you for everything you gave to the Caps during your time in DC. Happy Beagle got a cup before leaving. Thank you Jay Beagle!
