Evgeny Kuznetsov leaves game two with an “upper body” injury, does not return

Evgeny Kuznetsov released the puck. Brayden McNabb, one of the defenseman for the Golden Knights, crushed him against the boards with a high, forceful check. Kuznetsov a center for the Washington Capitals had his left arm pinned against his body, and he held it gingerly as he fell to the ice. Kuzy unfortunately would head down the tunnel and to the locker room with 5:18 remaining in the first period of Game two of the Stanley Cup Final.

The game would play on as Capitals fans would eagerly wait to see if Evgeny would return for period two. When he didn’t the Capitals pr twitter account called him “questionable to return”

The second period would end still with no Kuznetsov. After an 18 minute intermission and the return of the team to the ice in the third period, still no Kuznetsov. Kuzy will be re-evaluated today, but we most likely wont hear anything until Saturday morning to whether or not he will play game three in Washington.
