Darren O’Day Elects Surgery, out for Six Months

Right handed pitcher Darren O’Day has elected to undergo surgery on his left hamstring and will miss the remainder of the season. The expected recovery time is around six months. O’Day’s 2018 season comes to a dissapointing end with a 3.60 ERA over 20 appearances. O’Day was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on June 27 before being transferred to the 60-day DL on Friday.

O’Day is in the third year of a 4 year/$31 million deal signed in December 2015 and should be ready for Spring Training next season.
