D.C. United to Partake in Friendly this May at Audi Field

There will be an international team coming to Audi Field this May. D.C. United has annouced that there will be a friendly match against Real Bettis from Spain’s La Liga. The match takes place on May 22, 2019 with an 8:00 kickoff.

D.C. United have announced a friendly match against Real Betis of Spain’s La Liga on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Audi Field at 8:00 PM. Real Betis are currently eighth in La Liga.

Real Betis are one of Spain’s most high profile clubs and were established in 1907 in Seville; one of the most well-known and historic cities in Spain.

They are one of the most followed teams in Spain with Betis being the fourth largest Spanish team behind Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid in numbers of fans.

Real Betis have well-known international players including current captain and club legend Joaquín. They also have Mexican National Team superstar Andrés Guardado, Spanish forward Jesé, and former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra.

D.C. United are continuing to work on hosting a variety of international clubs to ensure that Audi Field becomes a premier location for international soccer. The Black-and-Red will continue to pursue friendly matches against international opponents to appeal to the diverse and multicultural community in the District.
