Capitals vs. Golden Knights Preview: November 9, 2019

The Washington Capitals return home to face the Vegas Golden Knights. The two teams are coming in strong, which will lead to a great performance. The breakout seasons of both Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson will be put to the test as the Caps face another quality opponent.

The Caps still lead the league in points (27), and have a 12-2-3 overall record. Two of those overtime losses came at home, but every point is important, and the Caps know how to play strong. The Knights have a 9-5-3 record with 21 points, and sit in the first Wild Card spot in the West. Their goaltending has been their strong point all season, and kept them alive in the race.

Even a year after their meeting in the Stanley Cup Finals, these teams are still bitter at each other. Most of the pieces from those teams are still there, and the goalie duel especially is strong. Holtby has been a bit less strong as of late, but is still effective at getting wins. Marc-Andre Fleury for the Knights leads the league in wins with nine, including a shutout. So if the Caps want to win, they have to get by him.

Regardless, whenever these two teams meet, it is quite the show. The Caps and Knights should not disappoint this season as they go at it again.
