Washington Capitals preseason schedule and training camp shaping up

The Washington Capitals rookies head south to Florida this weekend to take part in a rookie tournament against two other NHL team rookies. The Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning will send their rookies to this tournament at well. This will be the fourth year the Capitals are participating in this rookie tournament. Last year’s tournament was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.

The Washington Capitals will officially open training camp on Thursday, September 13th. The date is two days after the conclusion of the rookie tournament in Florida. This gives the rookies/prospects invited to camp the chance to catch a flight back to D.C and prepare for regular season training camp with the Capitals.
