Washington Capitals Blow Two Goal Lead to Pittsburgh Penguins in Game One

The Washington Capitals came out strong in game one when Evgeny Kuznetsov started the scoring within the first 20 seconds of the game. The Capitals fought hard all game to defend there lead through two hard periods of hockey.

Braden Holtby played a great game stopping 22 shots. The goals he let in weren’t all his fault the Capitals broke down in front of him in the defensive zone turning the puck over a lot in the third period. Holtby stopped a lot of odd man rushes, and was strong when short handed.

The Capitals has a third period melt down allowing three consecutive goals and will need to bounce back as they play the Penguins for game two on Sunday afternoon.
