Tigers Win on the Road For 4th Time

Tigers win! I’m not sure how or why but Towson on the road this year have been outstanding. The Tigers pulled off yet another road win with a 42-32 win over the North Carolina A&T Aggies.

Nathan Kent had a very solid outing as he finished the day 18-28 for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns. He now has 13 touchdowns on the year and 1882 yards passing.

Devin Matthews had a huge day on the ground as he carried the ball 17 times for 98 yards and 3 scores. Christopher Watkins had a solid day as well with 63 yards on 8 carries and a touchdown.

Lukkas Londono led all Tigers with 126 yards receiving. Zay Perkins and Daniel Thompson IV had the 2 receiving touchdowns on the day.

The Aggies fought hard but ended up falling short in the end. The loss drops them to 1-9 on the year. Quarterback Kevin White got injured early in the game and had to be replaced by backup Eli Brickhandler. He finished his day with 161 yards on 9 completions with a touchdown and INT.

Kenji Christian had a similar day to Devin Matthews in terms of production. He finished the day with 140 yards and 3 touchdowns. Amonte Jones led the team in receiving yards while Darren Bennett cashed in his only reception on the day for a touchdown.

Defensively, for Towson, Dorian Davis led the team with 13 tackles and Robert Javier had an INT. For the Aggies, Ty Williams Jr led the way with 9 total tackles and a tackle for loss.

Up next the Tigers head to Villanova Pennsylvania to take on the Villanova Wildcats. This marks another opportunity for the Tigers to knock off another ranked team on the road.

It will be a tough test as the Wildcats are currently 2nd in the conference. They have won 4 games in a row and are looking great as of late. Their only losses are to UCF and Albany this year. This game marks their Senior Day and last home game of the year.

Their quarterback is Connor Watkins, a Graduate Senior from Williamsport Pennsylvania. He’s had a big year this year with 1811 yards passing and 14 touchdowns. He’s also added 8 rushing touchdowns on the year.

The Wildcats have at least 3 backs that can find the endzone. Jalen Jackson, DeeWil Barlee, and TD Ayo-Durojaiye all have multiple touchdowns and all 3 guys have over 400 yards rushing on the year. Jackson leads the team in rushing yards with 626 yards rushing.

The Wildcats have a couple of very good wide receivers who can make big plays. Rayjuon Pringle and Jaylan Sanchez have found the endzone on a number of occasions this year.

Their defense has been pretty stout all year. They’ve only had a fews games that they struggled on that side of the ball. Brendan Bell leads the team with 57 total tackles and 2 sacks on the year. Shane Hartzell has 53 total tackles and 3 sacks. The Wildcats have a couple of playmakers in their secondary. Ty Trinh, Elijah Glover, Devon Marshall, Tyrell Mims and Isas Waxter will look to make big plays to limit the Tigers passing game.

Towson will need to bring their A game to steal yet another game on the road. Kickoff today is slated for 1 pm. GO TIGERS!
