The Mystics are still searching for answers as they fall to 0-7.

“If I am being honest, once we find it, I’ll be able to tell you,” said Ariel Atkins postgame.

“It’s frustrating; we know what works, and we just get tight.”

The Washington Mystics are at a point where most would never see them a seventh straight loss. Wednesday night at ESA, a highly energized crowd with Commissioner Cathy Englebert was in attendance.

Another inconsistent night on the offensive side of the ball for the Mystics has been a story so far of the season. The Mystics could not find the answers in a 73-67 loss. They are the lowest-scoring team in the league so far this season.

Washington could not find their stride against Atlanta on Wednesday night; basketball was inconsistent. As a unit, they go away from what works, sometimes falling apart. Another fourth-quarter disappointment as they had no answers for Atlanta. For almost nine minutes, Washington couldn’t find a shot. Most teams will find ways through the struggles, but Washington has yet to find the answer.

Ariel Atkins bounced from the disappointing game against the Seattle Storm, leading the way with 21 points. Shakira Austin and Stefanie Dolson combined for 21 points.

The big elephant in the room was three-point shooting. No team is winning a basketball game with 22.2 from three. Also, the number of free-throw attempts was a huge stat in the scoresheet.

Give the Atlanta Dream credit. They did everything to win the game. The Mystics just did not have the answers. Although the Mystics did have some bright spots in the fourth quarter, it was not enough.

The Mystics look to regroup as they travel to New York to face the Liberty.
