Ravens Sign Veteran Running Back Dalvin Cook

The Baltimore Ravens signed running back Dalvin Cook on Thursday to their practice squad. Cook, 28, had spent all season with the New York Jets signing with them in August, before he and the Jets mutually parted ways on Tuesday.

Drafted in 2017 by the Minnesota Vikings out of Florida State, Cook at one time was considered a premier back in the NFL making four straight Pro Bowls from 2019 to 2022 as a member of the Vikings. In his career Cook has rushed for 6,207 yards, 47 rushing touchdowns, while adding 236 receptions to go along with 1,872 yards and five receiving touchdowns.

Cook’s time with the Jets this season was disappointing as in 15 games Cook only had 67 rushing attempts for 214 yards, and has yet to score a touchdown. But Cook now joins a legitimate AFC Super Bowl contender, and can help contribute to a running back room that is thin outside of Justice Hill and Gus Edwards.

The Ravens take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday before they are off until the divisional round of the playoffs, giving Cook nearly two weeks to get accustomed to the Ravens offense.
