Orioles Player Profile: Kyle Bradish

Kyle Edward Bradish was born on September 12th, 1996, in Peoria, Arizona. The Los Angeles Angels selected Kyle Bradish in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB draft out of New Mexico State University. Bradish made his MLB debut on April 29th, 2022, against the Boston Red Sox.

Kyle Bradish was sent to the Angels single-A affiliate, the Inland Empire 66ers after being drafted. Bradish had an ERA of 4.28 and a WHIP of 1.42 in 24 games. On December 4th, 2019, Bradish was traded to the Baltimore Orioles with other prospects in exchange for right-hander Dylan Bundy.

In the 2021 season Bradish spent time with the Bowie Baysox (AA) and the Norfolk Tide (AAA). Bradish had an ERA of 3.68 and a WHIP of 1.36 in 24 games. He also had an impressive 131 strikeouts in just 100 innings. After playing only 6 games in the minors to start 2022, Bradish was called up to pitch against the Boston Red Sox. Bradish went a respectable 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned runs) and striking out 2. He finished his rookie year with a 4.90 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. Bradish showed flashes as a rookie but dealt with inconsistency throughout the season. He showcased his talent against the Houston Astros, throwing 8 innings in one start and 8.2 in another.

Many around the team thought Kyle Bradish could pitch like an ace in 2023. Everyone knew the Orioles had the offense; the pitching became the question mark. Bradish silenced the doubters by having an ERA of 2.83 and 168 strikeouts in 168 innings. He’s become the clear-cut #1 on the O’s staff and should gain some Cy Young consideration. Bradish had the third best ERA and the fourth best WHIP in the American League.
