Orioles claim pitcher Scott from Seattle, designate Gilmartin
The Baltimore Orioles have claimed RHP Tayler Scott off waivers from the Seattle Mariners
Scott, 27, is from Johannesburg, South Africa. Scott made his major league debut with Seattle earlier this month.
In five games played with the Mariners this season, Scott holds a record of 0-0 with a 9.39 ERA.
Scott was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Notre Dame Prep High School.
To make room for Scott on the 40-man roster, the Orioles have designated LHP Sean Gilmartin for assignment. Scott will officially report to Triple-A Norfolk.
