Offense stalls, Orioles drop finale against Indians: Recap 6/30/19

The Baltimore Orioles closed out their three-game set at home today, hosting the Cleveland Indians for the finale at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Gabriel Ynoa got the start today, and he threw a good 5.1 innings. Ynoa allowed just one run on six hits, while striking out three batters.

Carlos Santana of the Indians broke the scoreless tie in the third inning with a single to right field to take the lead at 1-0.

Gabriel Ynoa would not allow another run through his outing, and Paul Fry would come in relief in the sixth, striking out two batters to end the inning.

The Indians would tack on one more run in the seventh on Carlos Santana’s second RBI single of the day. This put the Indians up for good at 2-0.

Despite incredible offensive nights the last two games, the Oriole bats were as quiet as a television on mute. The Birds only mustered five base hits, none of which scored any runs. The Orioles only had two chances with runners in scoring position, in which they went 0-for-2.

Our MSB Orioles Player of the Game is starting pitcher Gabriel Ynoa. Ynoa followed two fantastic starts in the first two games of the series and tossed a good one himself, keeping his team in the game.

The Orioles travel to Tampa Bay to face the Rays Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET.
