NFL Week 7 Start Em’ Sit Em’ 2018-2019

Another week of the NFL is here, and that means we at Maryland Sports Blog are here to give you our starts and sits for the week. Maryland Sports Blog will be covering the Redskins-Cowboys and Ravens-Saints games on Sunday. Credit to Matt Bachota and myself for coming up with the players for the starts and sits.

Quarterbacks:

Start: Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston

First, Matt Ryan has been consistently one of the best Fantasy Quarterbacks in the league today. Ryan accounted for 27.50 points last week in a win against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. Jameis Winston is a start for the 2nd straight week due to him recording over 30 points last week in a loss to the Falcons. Winston will matchup against a tough Browns defense, but they tend to allow many points as shown last week against the Chargers.

Sit: Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott

Deshaun Watson is a sit due to a poor performance last week against an awful Bills team. Next, Dak Prescott has yet to have a 30+ point performance, and despite scoring over 29 points last week, he faces a tough Redskins front seven that will look to pressure the Cowboys signal caller.

Running Backs:

Start: Joe Mixon and Chris Thompson

Joe Mixon faces a terrible Chiefs run defense, who allowed 22.60 non PPR fantasy points to Sony Michel last week. Mixon has been the consistent number one Running Back on the Bengals depth chart, and will look to make an impact against Kansas City on Sunday Night Football. Despite playing a solid Cowboys front seven, Chris Thompson is scheduled to return and will look to make an immediate impact with Adrian Peterson dealing with an injury.

Sit: Lamar Miller and Dion Lewis

Lamar Miller faces a tough Jaguars defense, and will most likely split carries with Alfred Blue, making him a sit. Dion Lewis will be playing in London against an excellent Chargers front seven with the likes of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram II.

Wide Recievers:

Start: Jarvis Landry and Alshon Jeffery

Jarvis Landry faces a weak Buccaneers secondary, and despite recording just over 1 point last week, he should be vital in the offense as Tampa Bay has allowed 28.2 PPG, which is the 8th most in the NFL this season. Alshon Jeffery is coming off a huge 17 point non PPR performance against the Giants who have a solid secondary in Landon Collins and Janoris Jenkins, and he will look to make an impact against an subpar Panthers group of Defensive Backs.

Sit: Corey Davis and Cole Beasley

Corey Davis will most likely matchup against Casey Heyward or Trevor Williams, in which will be a tough matchup for him. Davis has only had one breakout game this season, making him a safe sit for the week. The Cowboys seem to have a new WR breakout each week, with last week being Cole Beasley, who is at best a decent WR, obtaining 8-10 points, which makes him a sit against the Redskins.

Tight Ends:

Start: Kyle Rudolph and George Kittle

Kyle Rudolph is ranked as the #10 TE in NFL.com leagues, deservingly so as he has put up 3 solid fantasy games this season, with at least 7 points. Next, George Kittle has been excellent for the 49ers as he has helped San Francisco move the ball down the field, even without Jimmy Garrappolo. Despite falling to the Packers, the 49ers kept the game close till the very end when Aaron Rodgers worked his magic and drove Green Bay down the field for a game winning Field Goal as time expired, and Kittle had 4 receptions for 30 yards in that contest.

Sit: Charles Clay and Benjamin Watson

Charles Clay may be facing an awful Colts defense that surrendered 42 points to the Jets last week, but the Bills are starting Derek Anderson at Quarterback, making Clay a sit. Benjamin Watson has yet to make a significant impact for the Saints, as his best performance totaled for 7 points and he matches up against a great Ravens defense.

Kickers:

Start: Jason Myers and Harrison Butker

Jason Myers is coming off a 24 point performance, and despite matching up against the Vikings, he should get a few opportunities for long Field Goal attempts at home, which may favor him. Harrison Butker is a safe start due to him making 5/5 attempts in Foxboro, despite his team taking a loss.

Sit: Dan Bailey and Robbie Gould

Dan Bailey faces a decent Jets defense, but he could be playing in terrible weather or the cold, which may limit his Field Goal attempts or attempts made. Robbie Gould matches up against the Rams, making him a sit as he will not get plenty of opportunities with Jimmy Garrappolo sidelined for the rest of the season.

Defenses:

Start: Rams and Colts

the Rams are an automatic start, and despite playing the 49ers, they still are the sole undefeated team remaining in the league, and a huge portion of that should be credited to their superb defense. The Colts are a risky but potentially rewarding start, as they face off against Derek Anderson who does not have much experience as a starter.

Sit: Bengals and Saints

The Bengals defense are a sit for this week as they play the still hot Kansas City Chiefs who recorded 40 points last week and have explosive weapons such as Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill. The Saints play a road game against the Ravens in which will be tough for them to cover the Ravens suprinsgly decent reciever core, and New Orleans has given up 36 PPG, which is the most given up by a team this season.
