Caps vs Canes, a preview and the start of Caps hockey returning
Today, July 29th, the Washington Capitals will play an exhibition game against the Carolina Hurricanes. This is one of three exhibition games, to warm up for the Playoffs. The game will be played in front of an empty arena but will be broadcast on NBC Sports Washington.
The three exhibition games, will be a good way to get the rust of not playing or practicing for a few months off. Hopefully the defense is rested up and will play more enthusiastically than they did during the last bit of the season.
Some notable, additions to the roster are two of the previous first round picks Connor McMichael and Alex Alexeyev. This past season, in 52 games, McMichael had 47 goals and 55 assists totaling 102 points. Alexeyev had 3 goals and 18 assists with the Hershey Bears this season.
