Capitals Looking to Stay Hot Against the Ducks

The Caps have come a long way since their 7-game skid in January after the recent dismantling of one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the San Jose Sharks. It’s a breath of fresh air to see this Capitals team that is skating with confidence and firing on all cylinders like we have grown accustomed to seeing. The Ducks have not been a formidable opponent this year but beating anyone at home can prove to be problematic in the NHL.

Talent wise, this shouldn’t even be a contest. The Ducks are a team that wins low scoring games. This will not be one of them. With the over/under at 5.5 you can expect the game to be fast paced. Ryan Getzlaf is their leader in points and if you had to google that name you may be part of the 99.99% of people who had to google that name. With a pedestrian 36 points leading your team this deep in the season you can imagine that the Ducks are swimming upstream at this point.

Littered with injuries the Ducks will start:

Rakell, Kesler, Perry, Fowler, Getzlaf, with a questionable Ryan Miller in goal.

The Caps will start:

Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Oshie, Ovechkin, and Carlson
