The Washington Capitals look to get back in the win column when they host the Buffalo Sabres for the second time in the last seven nights tonight in DC. Washington had five straight wins with a 4-3 shootout victory over Buffalo last week, before unfortunately having that ended against the Penguins on Wednesday night.
The Buffalo Sabres are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals. The Caps could be in for a handful against a young up and coming Buffalo team that cant be taken lightly anymore. The positive stats for the Caps however against the Sabres are that the Caps are 6-1 in their last 7 games against Buffalo. It gets better for DC, as the Sabres are 3-13 in the last 16 battles in Washington.
Sabres could be without multiple top players in Jason Pominville, and Nathan Beaulieu. These two have missed a few games, but are now listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Scott Wilson, Jake McCabe, and Casey Nelson all have injuries for the Sabres. The Capitals have been healthy for the most part this season and as of now are without two defenseman in Christian Djoos and Brooks Orpik.
