Capitals draft Hendrix Lapierre with the 22nd overall draft pick

The Capitals originally had the 24th overall pick in the 2020 NHL entry draft. To move up to get the 22nd pick, they traded the 24th and 80th overall pick, in order to move up. The trade allowed Washington to move up two spots, and draft Lapierre.

In 69 career games for Chicoutimi Sagueneens, he got 18 goals and 49 assists. That accounts to a total of 67 career points.

Lapierre did have an injury riddled season last year. He was diagnosed with three concussions in a 10 month span. It was later reveled that he was diagnosed with a twisted vertebra which gives concussion like symptoms.

Being that Lapierre is only 18 years old, there is still a lot of room for growth as a player.
