Bowie State Wins Third Straight, Beats Saint Augustine’s 32-22

Everything was working today for the Bowie State Bulldogs in their conference opener against the Saint Augustine’s Falcons in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Bowie State trailed 7-6 after the first quarter, but later exploded for 20 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 26-7 lead at halftime. The Bulldogs added on with a 17 yard touchdown rush by Brandon Adams to take a 32-7 lead, which they would hold on to for a 32-22 victory-their third consecutive-to improve their record to 3-1, 1-0 in the CIAA.

Amir Hall had another stellar performance today, going 28-42 for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns. Leading the way in receptions was Gilbert Lunsford, who had 8 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. Bowie State’s defense forced two turnovers today, their most since a 40-23 loss at Wagner-which, oddly enough was the last game in which they forced a turnover prior to today.

Bulldogs will have their home opener against Winston Salem State next week.
