Alex Ovechkin Wins Espy’s for Best Male Athlete and Best NHL Player

If winning a Stanley Cup and Con Smythe wasn’t enough for the great eight Alex Ovechkin ends his season winning two Espy’s for best male athlete and best NHL player voted by fans. Ovechkin won best male athlete over Tom Brady, James Harden and Jose Altuve becoming the first NHL player to ever win the Espy for best male athlete.

Ovechkin also won best NHL player beating Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid and Marc-André Fleury. Ovechkin couldn’t be present to accept the award since he’s in Russia with his wife who is eight months pregnant.

The summer of Alex Ovechkin continues winning his first Stanley Cup and becoming the first NHL player to win an Espy for best male athlete can’t wait to see what he’s going to accomplish next year!
