Ravens Trade Two-First Round Picks to Raiders for Crosby

The Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a trade that will send veteran pass rusher Maxx Crosby to Baltimore, in exchange for the Ravens 2026 and 2027 first-round picks. The blockbuster trade took place Friday night and ends a seven-year relationship between Crosby and the Raiders.

The Ravens have been linked to Crosby since last season after the relationship between Crosby and the Raiders soured after the five-time Pro Bowler was shut down at the end of the season due to a knee injury Crosby originally suffered in October. Crosby was upset with the Raiders decision to end his 2025 season making claims that he was healthy enough to play. It’s not much of a surprise that Crosby was traded as the Raiders enter a rebuild, but what is a surprise is what the Ravens gave up to execute the trade. The Ravens do not trade picks for players often especially day one and day two picks, this trade will mark the first time in Ravens history that they have traded a first-round pick for a player.

It was a much-needed move for the Ravens who have longed for an impact pass rusher ever since Terrell Suggs left Baltimore in 2018. Crosby who turns 29 years old in August has amassed 439 career tackles and 69.5 career sacks since being selected by the Raiders in the fourth-round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Eastern Michigan.

Crosby and the Raiders agreed to a three-year $106.5 million dollar extension last offseason, with $91.5 million fully guaranteed. The $30.7 million dollars that Crosby is owed this season will likely be restructured by the Ravens after the trade becomes official on March 11th. Crosby will join a young core of pass rushers in 2026 as only Adisa Isaac, Tavius Robinson and Mike Green are under contract for the Ravens thus far. Kyle Van Noy, Dre’Mont Jones, and David Ojabo are all free agents this offseason and all three of their futures here in Baltimore remain up in the air. It’s likely the Ravens will use at least one of their 10 remaining draft picks on an edge rusher in Aprils NFL draft.

The Raiders will now hold the number one and number 14 overall picks in the 2026 NFL draft, while the Ravens first pick won’t come until the second round, pick 45, barring another trade that could get them back into the first round. With a big splash now in the trade market, the Ravens now turn their attention to free agency as they look to not only bolster their roster through free agents from other teams, but also possibly being able to retain a few of their 19 pending unrestricted free agents, most notably center Tyler Linderbaum. The Crosby trade also marks a high likelihood that the Ravens were able to come to some sort of extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson who the Ravens needed to work out an extension with before next week to avoid a cap hit of $74.5 million by Jackson.
