Tigers Outlast Bulldogs on the Road

The Tigers are back in the win column! A huge win on the road to open up CAA play. After 2 disappointing loses the Tigers get the job done and move to 3-2 on the season. The Tigers led by as much as 14 and had to rely on the defense to get the job done. The win should hopefully give them the confidence they need going forward.

Andrew Indorff had a solid day as he completed 17 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. He did not get sacked and did not turn the ball over. That is huge for a young quarterback still trying to get use to playing at the college level. Al Wooten had a huge day running ball going for 100 yards on 26 attempts and a touchdown. Jaceon Doss was the lone touchdown recipient with 3 catches for 41 yards.

Brennan Myer had a good day throwing the ball with 218 yards on 22 attempts with a touchdown. However, he was sacked 2 times and turned the ball over on an INT. Elijah Elliot paced the Bryant rushing attack with 100 yards on 19 attempts and a touchdown. Elliot also cashed in the receiving game with 4 catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. Aldrich Doe led them with 5 catches for 46 yards.

The Tigers defense were able to get the necessary stops and get the ball back. Brandon Peters had 9 total tackles and had a forced fumble. Ja’Mez Drummer had 6 total tackles, a TFL, a sack and had an INT. He was huge out there for the Tigers. Xavier Terry recovered the fumble for Peters and added 4 tackles. CJ McClendon and Elijah Tarlton both combined for a sack to give the Tigers 2 sacks on the day.

Lonnie Rice led the Bulldogs with 12 total tackles and had one of 3 TFL’s for the defense. Michael Otty and Nathan LaPlante. The Bulldogs did play incredibly well late but couldn’t get the job done when it was all said and done.

With the win the Tigers now return home for back to back home games. Elon comes to town this weekend while Monmouth comes next week. Up next for the Tigers is the aforementioned Elon Phoenix. Elon comes in with an identical 3-2 record with wins over Davidson, Western Carolina and Hampton. Their losses were to both ETSU and Duke on the road.

Under center for the Phoenix is Redshirt Freshman Landen Clark. Clark, a native of Radford, Virginia has been pretty solid for them. 8 passing touchdowns and 1045 yards and 211 yards rushing on 5 touchdowns isn’t too bad for a Redshirt freshman.

The ground game aside from Clark will be Jimmyll Williams and TJ Thomas Jr. both have 2 and 3 rushing touchdowns respectively. Both will look to get the ball up the field and wear down the Tiger defense.

Isaiah Fuhmann and Landyn Backey are both a threat when the ball is in the air. Furhmann is very tall and lanky at 6’4. Backey is smaller but still as dangerous. Both will test the Tigers defense in all areas of the field.

Defensively: Brodie Carroll anchors the middle of the field. A transfer from Shepherd and a former conference freshman of the year. Ishmel Atkins is. Big play guy in the secondary with 6 pass breakups and 3 INT’s. Towson will also need to watch for Tony Hart III, Asher Cunningham, Jesse Powell and Paris Lowery.

The Tigers will look to get out on a fast start on both sides. Hopefully carrying over g r momentum from this past weekend. Game time from Unitas Stadium set for 4pm. GOH TIGERS!
