Capitals vs Flyers, how will the Capitals bounce back after a loss and Wilson getting suspended

Today, the Washington Capitals play the Philadelphia Flyers, to be the last series in the road trip. The game looks to be a rebound for both teams as both lost their last game. This will be the first game the Capitals are without Tom Wilson who was suspended for seven games for a boarding hit on Bostons Brandon Carlo. Let’s breakdown the keys to winning the game.

First, continue to win the faceoff battle. This is key to puck control and being able to keep the puck in the offensive zone and clear the puck from the defensive zone.

Secondly, keep the game physical. If the Capitals play a physical game, then the Flyers will be on their toes, and the Capitals will also be able to control the tempo of the game. This is key to keeping the game at a pace the Capitals want.

The third and final key is to stay out of the penalty box. This is key because if the play is 5-5 which means that the team can change lines when they want and also they won’t have to defend shorthanded.

The game is at 7 on NBC sports Washington and can be heard on 106.7 fm
