Justin Jackson’s career as a Terrapin has come to a close, as he has decided to declare for the 2018 NBA Draft and hire an agent. Jackson declared for the draft last season; however, he did not sign with an agent.
Per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony:
Maryland sophomore Justin Jackson is foregoing his final two seasons of eligibility and declaring for the 2018 Draft. “After talking with my family and weighing my options, it’s my desire to turn my full attention to preparing for a career in pro basketball.” News story coming.

Jackson had a successful freshman season, averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while helping lead Maryland to an NCAA Tournament berth. Jackson’s sophomore year began promisingly, averaging 9.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, but a torn labrum cut his season short after 11 games.
Jackson was seen as a lottery pick before his injury in many mock drafts but has slipped down boards since. The 6’7 forward will still draw attention from NBA teams, as he is expected to be ready to participate at the combine in May.
