Za’Darius Smith is headed to Green Bay

The Baltimore Ravens have reportedly lost another player from their defense as their sack leader from last season decided to sign with the Green Bay Packers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Ian Rapoport tweeted this earlier today. “The #Packers are signing former #Ravens pass-rusher Za’Darius Smith to a four-year deal worth $66M, source said. Here is our story on C.J. Mosley going to the New York Jets.

Smith gets $34.5M in the first two years.” Smith had his best season in 2018 with 8 1/2 sacks and a career-high 45 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss.

All the best of luck to Za’Darius Smith on this new team!

At age 26, Smith entered free agency as one of the top targets for teams looking for pass rushers. Smith was motivated to have his best year as an impending free agent and he made the most of his opportunities surpassing his previous career high of 5 1/2 sacks as a rookie in 2015.
