Wizards nearing 3-year extension with Randy Wittman

According to hoopsrumors, the Washington Wizards are nearing an extension with Head Coach Randy Wittman. Is this a smart move?

Well there are two sides to this question. There are those that say Randy Wittman has done a terrible job with the team and he got lucky with the talent they had on the roster this year. Not putting guys in at the right time, making bad organizational moves etc. However, there are those that are in favor of the third year Head Coach. After starting off the year miserably both in 2013 and 2014, the Wizards made a much better effort to up their play later in both seasons, more particularly in 2014.

Did he re-group the team and lead them to their first playoff berth since 2008 or was he just a man in a suit standing courtside by every game? There are some compelling head coaching names out there, one that jumps out is former Golden State Warriors Head Coach Mark Jackson. However, I think that as long as the Wizards keep their pieces together and play good basketball as a unite, they will continue to grow and win in the future no matter who is calling the plays.
