Washington Capitals Force Game Seven After a 3-0 Win

The Washington Capitals have forced a game seven after shutting out the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-0. The Capitals came out and out played Tampa in every aspect of the game and had a strong physical presence.

This game was the one of the best overall games they have played all season. The Biggest difference between these two teams tonight was hitting. The Caps our hit Tampa 39-19. Brooks Orpik, Alex Ovechkin, Dovante Smith-Pelly and Tom Wilson where hitting everything that moved. Between the four of them they combined 21 hits.

Braden Holtby got his fifth career shut-out stopping 24 shots. Holtby our played Vasilevsky and was one of the main reasons why the Capitals won tonight. He played a big game and was extremely clutch tonight.

TJ Oshie has two goals tonight and was a monster on defense. Oshie scores his first goal on the power play to give the Capitals a 1-0 lead, and scored his second being an empty net goal for a 3-0 lead.

Davonte Smith-Pelly was one of the best players on the ice. He was hitting machine, made great plays and scored the second goal of the game.

Hopefully they keep this momentum and bring it to Tampa in game seven to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals!
