Washington Capitals Claim Dimitrij Jaskin Off Waivers
The Washington Capitals have picked up forward Dimitrij Jaskin off waivers from the St Louis Blues. Jaskin was sent to the minors while on a one way contract making him available to pick up in a 24 hour timeframe.
Jaskin last year scored six goals and had 11 assist in 70 games last year for the Blues. Jaskin is a former second round pick for the Blues in 2011, and can help out the Capitals third and fourth lines.
Jaskin is known for his speedy play and grit with his size standing at 6’2 200 pounds. It would be interesting to see how the Capitals use Jaskin. Jaskin could see action soon depending on the length of suspension Tom Wilson could face after being kicked out of the last pre season game and injuring Jaskin former teammate Oskar Sundqvist.
