Thoughts and prayers go to Torrey Smith

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith lost his brother Tevin Smith yesterday in a motocycle accident.  Torrey Smith and his family are very close and he is a father figure to his siblings.  My personal thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  The Ravens sent out this press release on the issue.

The brother of Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith, 19-year-old Tevin Chris Jones,
passed this morning after a motorcycle accident in West Moreland County in
northeast Virginia.

Smith was notified at the Ravens’ downtown Baltimore team hotel shortly after 1
a.m. and left immediately to be with his family.

Head coach John Harbaugh met with Torrey before he left the hotel and issued
this statement:

“This is devastatingly sad, sad news. Torrey and his family are a close, special
family, and our hearts and thoughts reach out to all of them. Our hearts ache
today. We pray for Tevin, his mother, Torrey and the rest of the family. God
bless Tevin.”

Coach Harbaugh does not know if Smith will play against the Patriots tonight.
“Torrey’s priority is his family. We understand that completely.”

Torrey Smith has returned to the Ravens and is probably going to play. The Ravens are a classy organization and are leaving the decisions up to Torrey Smith.
