Orioles lineup 6/24/2014

imageThe Baltimore Orioles face the Chicago White Sox and have a chance to get another series win. Last night the Orioles won in walk-off fashion on Chris Davis’ pinch hit three-run homer. The Orioles are hitting very well of late and the bats are hitting for power.

Chris Davis is back in the lineup after an off-day last night. Delmon Young is out of the lineup even after another three-hit ball game.

Orioles lineup versus the White Sox game one

Chris Davis Oblique injury swingThe Baltimore Orioles start a three-game series with the Chicago White Sox and look to continue their hot streak after winning series in Tampa Bay and in New York.  The Orioles will be sending Wei-Yin Chen to the mound who has pitched great his past few starts.

Chris Davis gets an off day today, Steve Pearce has been one of the hottest hitters in the league and needs to stay in the lineup so he is at first base today.  Delmon Young has hit well all season and gets the start at DH.  Nick Markakis is the Orioles only left-handed batter in the lineup today.

Orioles lineup game two versus the Red Sox

The Baltimore Orioles play the Red Sox in game two of a three-game series.  The Orioles won last night behind a great start by Bud Norris.  Manny Machado has been suspended for five games but is appealing the suspension, that story can be found here.

Chris Tillman looks to rebound after another rough start.  Tillman has struggled with his consistency this season.

Happy Mothers Day!!!! The Baltimore Orioles look to sweep the Houston Astros after a thrilling five to four victory last night. The Orioles are going to activate Chris Davis today and he is back starting at first base. Davis only played one rehab game at double-A Bowie. I will have the corresponding move later.

Matt Wieters could go to the DL but it looks like the Orioles are fine with him DHing.

Orioles lineup and game notes (Astros game two)

The Baltimore Orioles look to extend their winning streak to five games as they play the Houston Astros in game two of the three game series. The Orioles beat the Astros four to three last night. Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is on his way to play for the Bowie Baysox tonight as he starts his rehab.

The Orioles will send Miguel Gonzalez to the mound as he looks to get back on track.  Gonzalez has had a tough season as he is one and three with a 5.28 era.  Gonzalez will face Collin McHugh.

Orioles lineup versus the Pirates game one (Lombardozzi optioned Machado activated)

479px-Manny_Machado_8-10-2012The Baltimore Orioles play the Pittsburgh Pirates in a double header today and the Orioles will have some roster moves coming.  Manny Machado will be activated today but will not start in the first game of the double header, Flaherty will start at third.  To make room for Machado the Orioles have optioned Steve Lombardozzi.  Lombardozzi has played extremely well with the Orioles this season batting .292.

Troy Patton is also likely to be activated today but it will have to wait until the first game is over.  Steve Pearce is also getting his second start with the Orioles today and Jamile Weeks is starting at second base.
