Shorebirds complete their season with inpressive 90 wins

In what has been a historic season, the Delmarva Shorebirds finished their year with an impressive 90-48 record.

With their Labor Day 9-5 victory against the Kannapolis Intimidators, the Shorebirds have become the first South Atlantic League team since the 2006 Augusta GreenJackets to win 90 or more games in a single season.

Delmarva finishes the second half tied with the Hickory Crawdads for the Northern Division title. Hickory took a tiebreaker in head-to-head matchups and will officially be listed as second half champions.

Delmarva will now focus on playoff baseball for the first time since 2005. The “Baby Birds” will face off against Hickory Wednesday night in game one of a three-game Northern Division Championship Series.

As of right now, Orioles No. 2 ranked prospect, RHP Grayson Rodriguez, will take the hill for game one at LP Frans Stadium in Hickory. Rodriguez is coming off a great regular season, in which he went 10-4 with a 2.68 ERA in 20 games.

Game two will be played at Arthur W. Purdue Stadium in Salisbury, MD, Friday night. Game three will also be played at Purdue Stadium Saturday night if necessary.

Here is all the information you need to know about the Shorebirds’ postseason:
